It is with great care and consideration we have made the decision to suspend all Mercer Rowing Program activity until Monday, March 23. This is effective immediately with no masters or junior rowing practices to take place at Caspersen Boathouse until Monday, March 23. We will re-assess the situation and send an update on Friday, March 20.
The Varsity Parents meeting scheduled for this Saturday has been postponed and tentatively re-scheduled for Saturday, March 21 with the Novice Parents meeting. We will confirm next week.
We are aware that many Mercer alumni as well as local prep schools are faced with their spring seasons being cancelled and are looking for a place to row/train. Unfortunately, at this time, PNRA/Mercer cannot accommodate these athletes.
We understand this is an incredibly stressful and difficult time but we are following closely the recommendations of local, state and federal entities. Brian Hughes has issued a State of Emergency in Mercer County and many college and major athletic events have been cancelled. All recommendations point to mitigation of this pandemic through social distancing.
Coaches will be sending workouts to the athletes as we fully intend to be back in action at some point this spring.
We will update as we have more information but please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Hilary Gehman Kristopher Grudt
